Short preface for this list. AI Art is highly controversial. I spent about two years working for a startup in the NFT space and I saw this debate evolve first hand from 2021-2022. I have a strong appreciation for good AI Art, because it is so easy to create. The fact that the barrier to entry is exponentially lower means that quality and quality creation takes on interesting forms. I have found the AI Art that inspires me or warrants a reaction usually creatively marries two or three characteristics that would be otherwise near impossible or very hard with traditional art. As an example, a floating pool in space where there’s a man swimming and discussing his opinion on the absurdity of politics to make the point that we’re just specks in the universe. While you could create this with traditional video the production, green screen, etc etc would be so laborious that it kind of just seems dumb once the creator has considered even attempting it. With AI Art they can make it in minutes and decide if it’s worth iterating and publishing. I will start noting this in future posts as it’s clearly worthwhile given the time we’re living in, but I did not edit this post with AI. Please excuse my grammar.
